Eggesford Barton House is a unique Grade 2 listed property set in 30 acres and surrounded by stunning mid-Devon countryside. The 300-year-old property has been carefully renovated and is full of charm and character, with pretty Georgian arched windows, exposed oak beams, original fireplaces and quirky sloping floors.
Sleeping up to 28 guests in 13 bedrooms, the beauty and space of The Barton make it the perfect venue to celebrate a special event or holiday with family and friends. For organisers and teachers of likeminded groups, it’s a peaceful retreat that inspires writing, painting and crafts and facilitates wellbeing.
With walking in Eggesford Forest and the Tarka Trail and fishing in the River Taw are on the doorstep, the house is also centrally located to explore Devon: Exmoor is to the East, Dartmoor to the West, the historic city of Exeter to the South and the spectacular surfing beaches like Croyde and Saunton Sands to the North.
Magnificent setting, perfect location for a family get together
The accommodation was excellent, comfy beds, hot showers, lots of space and very well equipped. We were blown away by the house. Our ‘bride to be’ just had a ball, all weekend! The activities were awesome and it was fabulous that we could do that all on site too.
Always a fantastic visit, see you next year
